It is also known as the home of one of the most spectacular landscapes in the world. A sea jet transported everyone to Santorini which arrived on the island at about 9am. The journey took about 3 hours.

There was a bus tour afterwhich everyone walked around, shopped and admired the beautiful island. During lunch, guests had a traditional greek meal. Pastor Ghandi and his guests visited a number of places in Santorini including the Cathedral and a Castle that served as a refuge for individuals hiding from pirates.

One interesting fact we learnt - Santorini has more wine than water, more sheep than human beings and more churches than homes.

Today, all guests left Greece after four days of fun, laughter and fellowship. It was indeed a great time and MP was honored to plan and execute tgi50.

the beach and the ocean.  180 guests gathered at Gran Melia, Daois
Cove to celebrate Pastor Ghandi’s Birthday!  Guests stopped at the
photobooth with a custom backdrop (with the birthday logo) to take
their pictures before going to sit for the service.  Gran Melia
provided soft drinks and cold towels to keep guests cool during the
service.  The programs designed by MP  were placed on each chair and
each guest was provided with a custom fan, with the ghandi is 50
engraved on the fans.

The service lasted about 2 hours, with prayers, hymns and an uplifting
exhortation followed by a cocktail hour and then dinner.

Dinner was soooo much fun!  Pastor Ghandi’s friends who have known him
for years got to ‘roast’ him.  To our surprise, he got them back in
the end with a roast of his own!!

The menu cards, also featuring the birthday logo, were designed by MP.

The food and cake by Gran Melia was absolutely delicious!!  There was
sooooo much food! All the guests were stuffed! But that didn’t slow
them down.  Guests danced into the night as DJ Sola Sodeinde was on the 1s and 2s.

It was 4 am by the time thelast song was played.  What a fun day!!

 

Day 3

The 3rd day began with a tour of spinalonga.  An island officially
known as Kalydon.  It used to be part of Crete but was carved out as
its own island during the Venetian wars.  Our tour guide also told us
that the island used to be a leper colony between 1903 and 1957.  You
can imagine the reaction, many ‘ahhhhhh’s’ at the revelation.  We had
a great time.  Dj Sola Sodeinde did a fantastic job on the boat while we
enjoyed soft drinks, snacks and icecream.

We returned to the hotel later in the evening to have dinner.  Pastor
Ghandi thanked everyone for coming and we were so touched that he gave
us a shout out for planning the event.  It was another fun evening of
great food and great conversation.


Tomorrow is the final day of TGI50.  We’ve had a great time and will
be sad to leave this beautiful island.  Come back tomorrow for the

After several months of planning,  the ghandi is 50 is here!! We are
so excited to be coordinating the 50th Birthday week long celebration of
Pastor Ghandi Olaoye.

Day 1 began with a welcome dinner at Gran Melia Daios Cove.  About 80
guests gathered to enjoy the delicious spread of food and drinks in
Gran Melia’s Pangea Restaurant.  Majority of the guests arrived late
Monday night/Tuesday afternoon to enjoy the rest of the week.

Gran Melia Daois Cove is a gorgeous hotel perched on its own mountain
and their staff have been a delight to work with. We are excited about
day 2 so come back tomorrow for more updates on tgi50!!
